Asia

Asia covers almost nine percent of the Earth’s surface. It is the world's largest and most populous continent with over four billion people being more than 60% of the world’s population. Asia lies in the east of the Suez Canal, east of the Ural Mountains, and south of the Caucasus Mountains and the Caspian and Black Seas. On its east is the Pacific Ocean, on the south the Indian Ocean, and on the north the Arctic Ocean. The continent spawns about 17 million sq miles with about a third of Earth's Land.

As the continent is huge several different civilizations live there. The people of Asia live in high population density especially in the southeast of Asia. Population densities are low in the northern, interior, and in most parts of Southwest Asia. In Siberia, people live primarily along the Trans-Siberian Railroad.

After North America and Europe Asia has the third largest GDP in the world. China is the largest economy in GDP terms followed by India, Japan and South Korea. China and India have been growing rapidly since late 1990s, with an average annual growth rate of more than eight percent with Philippines, Pakistan, and mineral-rich nations such as Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Brunei and Middle East nations following them.
